Infinite Interactive Information (I3)

May 31st, 2010 by drich

This is a brainstorm of ideas for an interactive graphical user interface that would interact with all systems and be based in the home environment.

A mainframe (core) must be used and must be on and connected at all times (24/7/365)
A dedicated custom system would be best (not custom underlying hardware)
The underlying operating system would be Linux (or other open source) since the underlying OS is not very important to function.
The system would include “hardware modules” that would provide different functions which would move the system to the FULL STATE.

All modules would require a microphone and could have a camera or an IR emitter and a wireless repeater.
A wireless HDMI module would be able to control television displays
The system would achieve interaction with other PCs and Macs in the household with the installation of software onto the systems.

The means to tie all of the technology together and interacting with people is not as important as the underlying ability to produce the correct information or action when requested.
Take a step beyond tomorrow…
